pan y rosas release derrière by ce françois couture!
ce françois couture is an experimental musician, improviser, and multi-instrumentalist based in st-faustin, quebec, canada. he came out of the music closet at age 38. he plays keyboards, theremin, percussion, and ukulele, but his main instrument is the no-input mixing desk, which he uses to sculpt rivers of controlled feedback.
françois’ first album for pan y rosas is a 39-minute improvisation performed using no-input mixers. it was recorded direct to disc. the sound is reverbed drone wave flow with shimmers.

pan y rosas releases chkm by shapes and monsters
shapes and monsters is an international collaborative improvisation project with two members in barcelona and two members in chicago. diego caicedo and gabriel millan play in snorkel quintet and etermortifera among others. reid karris is a solo improviser and member of step slow. keith helt is a member of catholic witches.
their first album, chkm, was improvised recorded between november 2011 and february 2013. tracks were sent back and forth. limited takes were allowed in order to maintain an improvised feeling/aesthetic.

hey everyone, the end of march newness comes from volcano radar! they are a fusion of ecstatic improvisational energy and apollonian intellect. a power quartet with dual free jazz/noise/avant guitarists elbio barilari and julia a. miller, legendary bassist harrison bankhead and incendiary drummer avreeayl ra, volcano radar moves fluently through a stylistic range from noise-funk improvisation to structured sonic forms.
their debut album, refutation of time, consists of an improvised set that was recorded at experimental sound studio in chicago on february 26, 2013. get it here!

DAJE is a solo project of leonardo belardinelli, who would like to sleep forever and ever. (he also provided the drums for the album I by exercise).
the wozzeck project started in september of 2007 as a free-jazz, noise and ambient-drone ensemble with primary members ilia belorukov and mikhail ershov. currenty the project work both as a trio and as a duo. in duo form belorukov and ershov are transitioning towards improvised electroacoustic and noise music.
both albums are noisey. both albums are quiet-ish. both albums are compositionally inclined. daje is a single – three songs in about seven minutes. zieht das kind an sich also contains three songs, but runs about twenty five minutes – more of an e.p. controlled feedback. no input mixers. voices. rattling. etc.
