pan y rosas discos is a netlabel out of chicago that focuses on experimental, noise, improvisation and weirdo rock. we believe that music should be available to all people for free!
unless specified by the artist, all of the music that we put out is licensed under a creative commons attribution-noncommercial-no derivatives 4.0 international license.
pyr began putting out music in 2008 as a way to make often overlooked music available to the public and as a way of building a community of artists, musicians and listeners. we believe that as media consolidation continues to reduce the avenues available to musicians, it is increasingly important to open up new paths for the dissemination of new music. we see pan y rosas discos, and netlabels in general, as offering one more path for artists to utilize.
our music is primarily available in the mp3 format because it is the most widely available and easiest to use across platforms. older releases are at 192 kbps and newer releases are at 320 kbps. we will offer albums at a higher resolution if the artist prefers it or if we receive a request from a listener. if there is an album you would like to see in a higher resolution, please contact us.
pan y rosas is most definitely interested in submissions. our only suggestion is that you listen to the music that we already have available and decide for yourself if your music would be a good fit. we are very open-minded. please send an email and a link to a place where your music is available for preview. alternately, if you need to send a physical copy, contact us and we’ll work it out.
this is an ongoing endeavor and we welcome any comments, suggestions, constructive criticisms that you may have. you can contact us here.
